Using the All-on-4 plus technique, Dr. Jivraj can provide a fully implanted, natural-looking, and functional set of teeth in a single day, so clients never have to spend any time in public without their teeth. With the updated range of sedation options, clients can access this procedure either while feeling no pain, or while being completely asleep.
The mildest level of sedation available, aside from localized numbing agents, is nitrous oxide, which is better known as laughing gas. This type of sedation has been used safely for nearly 200 years, allows clients to remain fully awake, though not feeling any pain, and is known to wear off quickly with no lasting effects.
The most commonly used level of sedation for individuals with concerns about pain, or a fear of the dentist, is known as “oral conscious,” because it uses an orally administered pill to provide a feeling of deep relaxation and calmness while allowing clients to stay fully awake. This sedation option is known to have longer-lasting effects, and clients should plan for a ride home from their procedure when choosing this option.
Though less often used, the Anacapa Dental Art Institute also offers two methods for deeper sedation, administered by licensed and trained professionals. Clients may choose either a deep IV sedation which will ensure they remain fully relaxed throughout the process, or general anesthesia, which will allow them to fall asleep in the dentist’s office, and wake up with their new teeth installed.
