CareerFitter.com, as of today, made public facts about its career test and the impact of 2020, now available online at www.CareerFitter.com, which career coaches and career-direction-seekers looking within the online career assessment space should find particularly interesting.
The idea for creating an online career test came about twenty years ago after one of the founders of CareerFitter.com was wondering what career direction he personally should pursue in his life. Then, he had a dream of answering questions online that would help him understand his work personality and then suggest specific careers that would be his best match. As a bonus, he thought being able to watch videos, and learn more details about jobs would be nice. Eventually, he bought the online rights to the CareerFitter career test and added the other career research features including the ability to search for job openings near the user.
Founder Troy Norton noticed a growing need for people of all ages and work experience to find the career or job that best fits a person’s personality in our rapidly changing world. Gone are the days of following in the footsteps of our relatives because that was the family business. The foundation of CareerFitter’s test was designed by leading psychologists and based on scientific research. The original test was a paper version and with no prior experience in the online career assessment world, Troy Norton pioneered the online career assessments that went live online in 1998.
Troy Norton is quoted saying: “We like to do things beyond our career products to connect with our consumers and customers. So, we also offer scholarships and allow schools, career coaches, and universities to use our online career assessment products for no cost. Our superior accuracy and these little factoids about the heart of CareerFitter’s Career Test are what sets us apart from other online career assessments.”
He went on to say that at the beginning of 2020 and the pandemic they were bracing to have their worst year ever. However, it ended up being the best year in 23 years with millions of people testing online. He said, “It’s a shocker. Who knew. It was as if the whole world was sitting home finally taking a pause long enough to look inward at who they are and what career they were made for. I think 2020 was one of the biggest evolutionary steps forward in how we should process who we are and the careers we are individually built for.”
The CareerFitter Career Test has been live online for over 20 years.
