The wedding planning industry estimates that in 2015, destination weddings have been on the rise as much as 25 percent annually featuring glorious wedding venues in far-flung locales like Fiji, Iceland, Tahiti, Hawaii, and Jamaica. In the United States, destination weddings account for 24 percent of all weddings, a whopping 508,000 weddings annually at last count. In the United Kingdom, the figures are similar, with 18 percent of all weddings, approximately 70,000 marriages taking place abroad.
