With the most recent expansions to the ERC program, experts suggest that the majority of small and medium-sized businesses can now qualify for rebates, even if they were not eligible under the program’s original requirements. The assessment and rebate application have been updated to allow any type of business to apply, including startups, new businesses founded during the pandemic, and non-profit organizations such as clinics, schools, and wellness centers.
There is no cost or obligation to use the assessment, and it is available to any employer that had between 5 and 500 W-2 employees on the payroll during the pandemic. To determine if they qualify, employers will be asked to answer 10 simple questions, with no proprietary business information required.
Eligible employers will receive an estimate of their available funding after completing the assessment, as well as a link to a fast rebate application service called the 15 Minute Refund program. The program uses a team of ERC specialist CPAs to help business owners complete the required paperwork, maximize their rebates, and file before the deadline.
The 15 Minute Refund program guarantees every business its maximum allowable rebate, even if it has already received PPP loans, or was not eligible under the original ERC guidelines. This service is available to employers in Pittsburgh, as well as throughout Pennsylvania, Michigan, Virginia, California, Illinois, and Ohio.
With no upper limit on funding and up to $26,000 per employee available, the fast rebate service has helped some employers to claim upwards of $2 million, though the average small business rebate is closer to $150,000.
To ensure equal access to the fast rebate service, the program is provided with no risk, and no up-front fees. Employers will not be charged until after they have received a rebate from the IRS, and any business that does not qualify, or does not receive a rebate, will not be charged at all.
