San Diego, Mar 4, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Catering and special events company, Picnic People, has expanded its corporate
catering kitchen capacity from 5,000 sq. ft to 12,000 sq. ft. This expansion will allow the
company to better serve the catering and event needs of San Diego companies.
Founder and Owner of Picnic People, Lisa Richards, said this about the completion of
the project:
"Picnic People's focus is to expand and improve our offerings by concentrating on new
smoking and seasoning techniques. To accommodate the new equipment required to
accomplish this goal, we needed to expand our kitchen footprint."
Picnic People specializes in planning and producing every detail of corporate, collegiate
and social events - serving groups of 50 to 50,000+ guests. Conveniently located in the
heart of San Diego County, Picnic People's new kitchen is specifically designed for BBQ
catering, with a smoke yard featuring three different kinds of smokers and a whole pig
roaster. With over 36 years of catering experience, Lisa's new vision includes creating a
collaborative culinary environment hosting renowned pitmasters and BBQ chefs from
around the world to create a BBQ school for San Diego.
"This year we have invested in creating new tastes at Picnic People. We're having a
blast mixing up traditional BBQ recipes with new woods and smoking techniques. We
could not be more blessed to have a community who is passionate about having
picnics. Life is a picnic and picnics are our lives." - Lisa Richards
In addition to the new kitchen, Picnic People has recruited the talent of Executive Chef
Ami Cisnaros to reinvigorate the classic picnic menus. Ami's extensive BBQ experience
throughout San Diego makes her the perfect complement to the new kitchen and
catalyst to bring Picnic People's new menus to reality.
"I'm excited to elevate the traditional BBQ menus that have made Picnic People San
Diego's go-to picnic caterer. With the new custom kitchen, we have expanded our space
to maximize our ability to produce even more amazing Picnic People events!" - Ami
Cisneros.
The expansion project also includes increased office space for Picnic People's internal
sales, operations and staffing departments. Expanded kitchen facilities with additional
storage and production space have allowed Picnic People to offer more comprehensive
event services and advantageous pricing to their clients.
Founded by Lisa Richards in 1984, Picnic People has planned and produced thousands
of corporate events for hundreds of San Diego companies over the years. As a full
catering and special events company, Picnic People is able to manage quality control in
all aspects of their events from activities to food to their dedicated staff. Every Picnic
People event is custom built to meet the specific and diverse needs of each client.
Picnic People is proud to be both a women-owned and a family-owned and operated
the company since its inception and remains a true San Diego small business success
story.
