Percona, a leader in open source database software and services, today announced that the Percona Live ONLINE Open Source Database Conference 2021 will take place on May 12-13. The free online event features over 100 expert speakers at more than 150 sessions representing dozens of projects, communities, and tech companies and 160-plus hours of content.

This year Percona Live ONLINE hot topics include:

  • Serverless deployments;
  • Bringing cloud-native to the database space - tips, tricks, and training around running databases on Kubernetes;
  • Learning how to automate database setups and testing in CI/CD pipelines;
  • Building scalable geographically distributed databases;
  • Advice on securing and locking down infrastructure data.

Speakers from Groupon, HubSpot, LinkedIn, PayPal, Shopify, and Uber have been selected to discuss their experiences using leading open source database technologies including MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Percona software.

Percona Live is a community-focused event for database developers, administrators, and decision-makers to share their knowledge and experiences as data increasingly drives decision making.

Attracting thousands of attendees from around the globe, Percona Live is the longest-running, largest, independent conference dedicated to the vast ecosystem of open source database technologies. Sessions include those on MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Percona, Elastic, Clickhouse, plus others during the two day event. Offering over 150 sessions, the conference provides a unique opportunity for both beginners and experts to learn from many of the largest organizations in the world, and hear from people who solve some of the biggest database challenges.

"Optimizing database performance improves business outcomes and provides developers with the agility they need to build innovative customer solutions," said Peter Zaitsev, CEO of Percona. "Percona Live ONLINE is a great opportunity for people to come together and learn about open source technology innovations, discover new database advances, and troubleshoot database issues, without being tied to a specific technology, or set approach from a single vendor."

This year, Percona Live ONLINE has added Community Rooms, organized and hosted by community projects, technologies, or by theme, allowing attendees to meet and discuss topics and issues relevant to their mission.

"This initiative facilitates tailored discussions for open source communities focused around MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, allowing them to address specific topics that will help them drive forward and succeed," said Matt Yonkovit, head of open source strategy, Percona.

The full agenda is here and registration is free at Percona Live ONLINE.
