New Jersey Church Offers Sunday Services Online After NJ Governor Declares State of Emergency Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Mar 12, 2020

WEST ORANGE, N.J., March 12, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Caution regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues across New Jersey as Governor Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency and the World Health Organization (WHO) officially labeled the outbreak a global pandemic this week. In response, The Life Christian Church (TLCC) in New Jersey is offering online worship services to bring church to everyone who cannot make it to church themselves.

The staff and volunteers at both NJ church locations in West Orange and Paramus are taking extra precautionary steps for Sunday services, such as having extra hand sanitizer locations installed and increasing sanitization routines for all high-touch surfaces.

The decision to focus on offering online video streaming is a proactive response to serve those who are at risk or who are unsure of attending larger public gatherings. Pastor Terry Smith, founder and lead pastor of TLCC, said, "We're seeing a lot of people share in uncertainty and anxiousness as news surrounding the Coronavirus develops. We want to make sure no one misses out on the message of hope and love of Jesus Christ."

"Part of our mission here at TLCC is to spread God's love in ever-widening circles, and this decision will make church attendance easier and more accessible to everyone across the state and beyond," noted Smith.

Smith said, "We want to make sure that if someone doesn't feel safe coming to church or isn't able to make it in person on Sunday, they still have a way to hear the message and watch online. At our church, everyone is welcome offline and online."

To watch TLCC's livestream of online church services this Sunday, visit www.tlcc.org at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
