New York City, New York Feb 28, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Dr. Henderson is a trained physiatrist & rehabilitation specialist whose clinical interests include critical illness rehabilitation, rehabilitation of cancer, brain injury, and stroke.
In Pennsylvania, she is affiliated with UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC Mercy, UPMC Passavant, UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, and UPMC St. Margaret. Skilled in the treatment of pelvic dysfunction and resulting pain disorders, Dr. Henderson is a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AOBPMR). The AOBPMR is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the treatment of patients with physical impairments or disabilities.
Having been involved in both pediatric and adult rehabilitation medicine during her career, Dr. Henderson most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer at The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh.
Among her professional affiliations, she is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, also known as physiatry and physiatrics, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities.
