Padstow, United Kingdom - December 5, 2017 /PressCable/ —
Cornish holiday company Harbour Holidays has this week announced the launch of its guide to Doc Martin filming locations in North Cornwall.
The guide has been published on the company’s website and features some of the key filming locations used in the exceptionally popular UK television show.
Now in its eighth series, Doc Martin follows the lives of characters in the fictional village of Portwenn and is centred around a grumpy doctor played by actor Martin Clunes. Aired on the ITV channel in the UK, the show has a huge number of fans who have been attracted to visit Cornwall to see where the show was filmed.
Harbour Holidays created the guide to Doc Martin filming locations to help holidaymakers explore the North Cornwall scenes shown in the entertaining comedy drama.
Much of the filming for Doc Martin takes place in and around the village of Port Isaac – which is a traditional Cornish village with steep narrow streets leading down to a small fishing harbour.
The guide details some of the properties and locations seen in the show, including the doctor’s surgery, the village pub, local beaches and landmarks. As well as Port Issac, the guide lists other Doc Martin hotspots including Port Gaverne, Port Quin, Pencarrow House, Bodmin Station and Padstow Harbour.
Nicky Stanley from Harbour Holidays said: “We often get asked about Doc Martin by our customers. There are some committed fans out there who want to walk in the footsteps of their fictional hero. So it made sense to create this guide for them to use to explore some of these North Cornwall’s gems.”
The holiday letting company represents the owners of cottages, houses and apartments in Port Issac and nearby Padstow in North Cornwall. These self catering holiday properties are positioned in spectacular locations near the coast and are perfect bases for exploring nearby scenes depicted in episodes of Doc Martin over the years.
Nicky Stanley added: “Doc Martin has done wonders for Cornish tourism. People flock here because they have been inspired by the scenes they have seen on television. Alongside the ever popular BBC TV show Poldark, Doc Martin does a great job of reminding viewers about the outstanding natural beauty Cornwall has to offer. I hope this guide helps them to make the most of their visit to the area.”
