Joel A Sinke was recognized as one of the top-rated Financial advisors in Hamilton, ON, by Three Best Rated®, a multi-national ranking website. Three Best Rated® uses a strict 50-point inspection to list the top three businesses, professionals, restaurants, etc., in six different countries.
"I feel very proud to be listed in Three Best Rated®," Joel says. He didn't know about Three Best Rated® until he received the news about his award a few years back. He shared the news with his friend, who owns a plumbing business, that's when he knew how big it was. "He was very excited for me and my staff, as he was very familiar with Three Best Rated and fully understood how much of a recognition it is," he smiles.
And now, fast forward to 2020, he is still keeping his position as one of the top-rated financial advisors in Hamilton. Prior to becoming a financial planner, Joel operated a wholesale business as a sole proprietor, but over time, he realized the work was solitary, and he wasn't having a significant impact on people's well-being.
"I began looking to make a career change, and I had always had a love of budgeting, financial planning, and investing. I also wished to work in a position that would allow me to impact the lives of others for the better, in a really practical way," he explains.
Once he began planning his career transition he researched all of the different banks and investment firms in Canada. After interviewing with a shortlist of potential firms, he settled on Edward Jones. "Edward Jones is truly independent, and everything that we do has the client at the center of it. This means not answering to outside shareholders and steering clear of proprietary products in favor of transparency and choice for our clients," he says.
His previous work experience serves as the foundational to what he does now, working with business owners and professionals to secure their financial futures. "I believe that financial advisors are of vital importance to small business owners, especially in times of economic uncertainty such as this," he says.
"Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, over half of all Canadian businesses have seen a decline of 20% or more in revenue. Nearly one-third reported revenues were down 40% or more vs. the same quarter a year ago," he explains.
"Financial planning is really about being prepared for the future. While no one may have been able to predict or guess that a global health crisis would cause the economic havoc that it has when I work with my small business clients we make sure that their personal and business finances are shockproof," he adds.
