New York City, Mar 27, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Dr. Pisel, a board-certified nephrologist, practices with Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, North Carolina.

"Since 1967, Catawba Valley Medical Center has built strong relationships with the people, businesses, and communities throughout the Catawba Valley. As the region's largest not-for-profit community hospital, it is our mission to improve the health status of the Catawba Valley. Our goal is to offer high-quality health-care services from a caring staff dedicated to improving the collective health of the community we serve. We exist to heal and comfort patients, to promote and foster a healthier Catawba Valley, and to assure access to health care to all who need it -- not to create profits and return dividends to shareholders." as stated on their website.

Back in 1990, Dr. Pisal earned his medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. This was followed by a fellowship in nephrology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Following his training, the doctor became board-certified in nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care when the time comes.
