Veteran attorney Symeon K. Davis, whose vast experience includes having served as Senior Counsel for Walgreens, a Fortune 40 company, has accepted a position as General Counsel for Goldrich Kest, one of Southern California’s largest privately owned Real Estate investors, builders, and property managers, announced company CEO Mike E. Drandell. In that capacity, the Westwood resident will bring two decades of law experience to his new position that includes overseeing all legal and risk management functions for the company and its multi-billion dollar national portfolio.

“We are delighted to welcome aboard Symeon, whose extensive legal background uniquely qualifies him for his new role with Goldrich Kest,” announced Drandell. “His impressive credentials, extensive knowledge of the commercial rest estate industry, proven track record, extraordinary attention to detail and big-picture vision are qualities that will, no doubt, prove valuable as we continue our nationwide expansion.”

“I look forward to contributing to Goldrich Kest’s storied and continued success,” said Davis. “I have been fortunate in my career to expand beyond the obligatory corporate and transactional legal functions by learning and helping run other key departments including operations, asset management, finance, acquisitions, design and development, HR, accounting, IT, marketing and social media. Those have been key engines within today’s successful real estate companies, and my holistic legal and business approach in this regard lends itself well to Goldrich Kest’s exciting growth initiatives.”

In addition to his role as Senior Counsel for Walgreens, Davis was Managing Partner of a law firm he helped grow during the Great Recession, and, most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Officer of commercial real estate investment and development firm, Black Lion Investment Group. There, he successfully directed and completed two major growth phases in a span of only five years. Davis received his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.

Recognized as one of the nation’s most successful real estate companies, Goldrich Kest is a privately owned, family-run business that can trace its origins back more than 65 years to two entrepreneurs, Jona Goldrich and Sol Kest, holocaust survivors who parlayed their meager savings into an empire. Today, the second generation of the Goldrich and Kest families, referred to within the company as “G2,” continue to build upon the company’s ever-expanding portfolio of residential, commercial, industrial, and retail projects. Among them are 124 apartment buildings with 14,004 units, 5 marinas, 22 senior living facilities with 4,168 beds, and, scattered throughout the US, more than 6.8 million square feet of commercial, industrial, and retail space. Over half of its apartment buildings accommodate low-income families. For more information about the company, visit goldrichkest.com
