Los Angeles, CA, United States - June 21, 2017 /PressCable/ —
The online marketplace is quickly changing the way people look for businesses, and many local shop owners have not kept up with the times. In fact, recent news has been full of stories of brick and mortar retailers shuttering their doors because of a lack of business. That’s because the majority of sales these days take place online, and many small retailers have failed to change the way they attract new customers.
“It’s a common misunderstanding that local retailers need to simply spend more advertising dollars to get customers into their stores,” says a spokesman from FindUsLocal.com, a local business directory that works hard to be a one stop resource for consumers. “But the truth is that local business owners need to change the way they think about marketing if they’re going to succeed in today’s retail environment.”
He’s talking about using local business directories as a way to be found by consumers. “Local retailers can’t rely on the old-school methods if they want to attract today’s consumers,” he says. “Instead, they need to ensure that their business can be found online, and the best way to do that is to list it with a local business directory like ours.”
But he says that local shops aren’t the only ones who benefit from local business listings. “Consumers who visit our local directory will find all kinds of useful information. They’ll find local news, upcoming events for their area, local coupons, and even live commentary from local business owners. In other words, local business directories are great for the local business owners who list their shops there and for the consumers who go there to find them. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
