It’s an uncomfortable fact that many people are having to come to terms with—it’s now necessary to be cautious even when doing something as simple as participating in the upcoming holiday events. But one expert says that it’s not necessary to panic—just exercise some common sense.
“We hear a lot of people say they’re going to stay home from holiday parties and events because they’re worried about the recent tragedies that have occurred, but if people would only use some common sense, it’s not necessary to skip all the fun,” says a spokesman from MJH Innovations, an online retailer that sells quality items for affordable prices. “For example, many people have shied away from Christmas caroling or other nighttime events because of fear, but a quality handheld flashlight would eliminate much of the risk.”
The statistics show that crimes increase between Thanksgiving and New Years Day, and that causes a lot of people to hole up in their houses and avoid events. But most experts agree that a little caution and common sense will help prevent many of these crimes. Most of the crimes are theft and property damage, and that’s why it’s important to light up a house or business especially during this time.
“In addition to making sure your property is lit up,” says the spokesman, “It’s also crucial to ensure that people never walk in the dark without a good flashlight at their side.” He said the simple act of carrying a flashlight can thwart many would-be robbers from approaching victims because they could be more easily identified in the light.
“The bottom line is that people don’t have to avoid all the fun that comes from the holiday, even among all the bad news. But they do have to be smart, and one of the best ways to do that is to ensure that they carry a powerful flashlight wherever they go.
