Manchester, United Kingdom Mar 16, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - CoComply announces the formal market launch of its new IR35 Compliance Management Service and Platform.
IR35 (Off Payroll) refers to the UK's anti-avoidance tax legislation designed to tax external workers doing a similar job to an employee, at a rate like an employee.
The rules apply when a worker provides services to a client through an intermediary but would be classed as an employee if they were contracted directly.
Since the UK HMRC IR35 Off-payroll rules were introduced (public sector in 2017, private sector in 2021), it has created a significant compliance administration burden and some confusion for both Companies and Off-Payroll workers.
Michael Cleavely, Managing Director of the CoComply service explains, "In consequence of more stringent IR35 compliance obligations, UK firms are pressured to boost their safeguard efforts before, during and after hiring Off-Payroll workers. Many firms are finding these new IR35 compliance administration workloads fall on Tax, Legal and HR leaders already hard-pressed to meet their daily workloads. Other firms are finding their hiring options hamstrung by fears over IR35 non-compliance. In either case, the impacts of IR35 cannot be ignored."
CoComply is a comprehensive IR35 compliance management service. It supports organisations by helping them to set up the right external workforce operational framework to ensure correct worker classifications. They then offer a fully outsourced and technology-enabled safeguarding service to manage ongoing IR35 compliance. This not only keeps organisations compliant but empowers them to see the benefits that come from putting effective and flexible external workforce programs in place.
In advance of the formal market release, the CoComply service has already gained many well-known brand advocates, clients, partnerships and followers.
Cleavely adds, "We're delighted with the success we've achieved in the last few months as we hit this important milestone of a public market release. It's testament to the fact that we are providing UK businesses with an essential service to streamline IR35 compliance, remove the fear of hiring Off-Payroll talent and encourage Off-Payroll hiring."
In support of its market launch, CoComply has produced an IR35 Self-Assessment scorecard that allows businesses to determine their level of IR35 risk.
