Located in Louisville just outside Boulder, the practice now offers the therapy to provide patients with an eco-friendly alternative to chemicals commonly used for root canal procedures. The ozone oxygen gas is used as a natural disinfectant to ensure a holistic approach to dental care.

By using ozone gas as part of the recently added therapy, Studio Z Dental effectively eliminates bacteria and infection, a vital step in ensuring the success of root canal treatments. This approach resonates with the practice's dedication to holistic health, considering the well-being of the entire person, not just their oral health.

Sodium hypochlorite or NaOCl, commonly called bleach, is used in standard root canal treatments to disinfect the tooth. While the chemical is highly effective at dissolving bacteria, it can cause poisoning if swallowed and can cause irritation to the eyes and skin. On the contrary, ozone breaks down harmful microorganisms without harming the surrounding tissue and doesn't leave behind toxic byproduct discharge when appropriately used.

The therapy begins with the administration of local anesthesia followed by the cleaning of the infected area. After this step, one of the dentists at Studio Z Dental treats the tooth with concentrated ozone gas to safely disinfect the tooth while promoting long-lasting results.

Ozone therapy can be used for procedures other than root canals as it is an effective fungicide, bactericide, and virucide. Ozone oxygen also eliminates parasites, meaning it does the same job as several rounds of traditional treatment, Studio Z Dental says.
