The United States is a large country with diverse political views and opinions. One of such views is that Jesus is a Republican. The concept of a Republican Jesus, which has been popular among right-wing Americans for quite some time, is no surprise. Over 60% of Democrats are Bible-believing Christians. The concept has grown in popularity following the last administration, heaving a negative image on the Body of Christ.
Apostle Dr. Cedric Wright II is a firm believer in the truth that Jesus should not be associated with any political party—Republican or Democrat. According to Apostle Cedric Wright, government systems were never designed to confirm religious stances. The space of religion that we are being dragged towards doesn’t include people. Our democracy was designed to make ALL safe. Now we are creating targets in the name of politics and religion. We need grace in overwhelming proportions and we cannot get it when government systems try to decide what the church must look like or not.”
