The Honorable Mr. Justice Crossin rendered a verdict of Not Guilty, vindicating Mr. Rai after an arduous eight-year legal ordeal.

In 2012, Mr. Rai, while overseeing multiple recovery houses, was found in possession of a small quantity of narcotics during a routine house inspection in one of the residents' rooms.
