According to Alaska Bible College, its mission is to “exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and extend His Church by Biblically training believers to be servants who lead with Christ-like character.” They do this through their distinctive educational experiences, which are rooted in rigorous coursework and guided by mentorship and spiritual growth.
Alaska Bible College provides a range of educational programs, including four- and two-year degrees, along with two- and one-year certificates.
For those pursuing a four-year degree, the college offers a choice between a B.A. in Biblical Studies & Christian Ministry or a B.A. in Elementary Education. Alternatively, students may opt for a two-year A.A. in Biblical Studies or the one-year Bible Certificate.
Credit requirements vary depending on the program; however, students can expect to take a diverse selection of classes. The majority of the credits earned will be in biblical studies and Christian ministry, but students must also earn general education credits in subjects such as English, history, mathematics, philosophy, and science, as well as elective credits.
Class sizes are small at Alaska Bible College, with the student-to-teacher ratio for the Fall 2022 semester at just 5:1. This enables instructors to dedicate more of their time and effort to their students and also encourages students to be more engaged and interactive. The college also notes, that upon graduation, students improve their chances of finding employment by as much as 60%.
“At Alaska Bible College, we believe that Christ-like character counts,” said Dave Ley, president of Alaska Bible College. “So, if you choose to join our adventure in Alaska, you will receive a high-quality biblical, theological, and ministry-based education that will prepare you to serve the Lord with integrity for the rest of your life.”
To apply for the 2023-2024 school year, prospective students must fill out the application form on the Alaska Bible College website. The school also offers tours for prospective students who want to learn more about the campus, faculty, and programs.
